Friday Night, 27th March – DJ Mo

Mo is known for crafting his sets “on the fly,” reading the energy of the dance floor and curating the flow from tanda to tanda. He likes to think of the milonga as a movie, where the dancers are both the characters and the audience — shaping the story’s rhythm, its buildup, its peak, and its final lingering scene.”

Sunday Afternoon, 29th March – DJ Wendy
Wendy’s love affair with tango began 15 years ago and has deepened through countless enriching journeys to Buenos Aires. Over time, she’s become both a graceful dancer and a well-regarded DJ, known for her intuitive musicality and vibrant energy. Her tandas draw from the Golden Age of tango, blending rhythmic elegance with emotional depth to inspire connection on the dance floor. With over a decade of DJ experience, Wendy brings a dynamic presence to every event. Her gift lies in reading the room and crafting musical journeys that uplift, energise, and linger in the hearts of dancers long after the final note. By weaving timeless classics with a touch of contemporary orchestras, she creates a soundscape that’s both captivating and unforgettable.
Sunday Night, 29th March – DJ Zaman
My love of tango began 2 decades ago in Perth, Australia, and I can remember it distinctly—all you can eat Indian buffet and my first ever tango class (food and tango music became a significant part of my tango travels). A couple of years later, I moved to Melbourne and began DJing at tango practica, learning to become a good DJ by listening to and watching the dancers as I played the tandas.
I’ve become a regular tango DJ in Melbourne and even had the opportunity to DJ at The Mid-Autumn Tango night in Beijing back in 2018. The tango dancers of Melbourne know I have a ‘style’ to music – I’m a rhythmical dancer (milonga, D’arienzo, Tanturi, Biagi) and it reflects in the tandas I play during the night. But, I do like to calm the floor, interspersing the night with slower/deeper tandas such as Demare, DiSarli, and Pugliese. As a DJ, I enjoy watching dancers connect with the music I play for them and with each other—all the special moments between us during a tanda. I look forward to the opportunity of being one of the DJs for Melbourne Tango Weekend 2026.
