Friday Night, 27th March – DJ Leonel
Leonel Colque is an Argentine-born tango dancer, teacher and DJ, shaped by the tradition of Buenos Aires and refined across three continents. He began his journey in the historic milongas of Buenos Aires, teaching at the legendary Confitería Ideal and studying with some of the greatest milongueros and maestros of our time. His foundation is deeply rooted in traditional social tango — the codes, the embrace, the musicality and the respect for the ronda that define authentic Tango de Pista. While living in Montreal, Leonel qualified as a Semi-Finalist in the Tango World Championship in Buenos Aires (Tango Salón category). This milestone reflects his commitment to true social tango.Saturday Afternoon, 28th March – DJ Jarny

Sunday Afternoon, 29th March – DJ Wendy

Sunday Night, 29th March – DJ Zaman
My love of tango began 2 decades ago in Perth, Australia, and I can remember it distinctly—all-you-can-eat Indian buffet and my first-ever tango class (food and tango music became a significant part of my tango travels). A couple of years later, I moved to Melbourne and began DJing at tango practica, learning to become a good DJ by listening to and watching the dancers as I played the tandas.
I’ve become a regular tango DJ in Melbourne and even had the opportunity to DJ at The Mid-Autumn Tango night in Beijing back in 2018. The tango dancers of Melbourne know I have a ‘style’ to music – I’m a rhythmical dancer (milonga, D’arienzo, Tanturi, Biagi) and it reflects in the tandas I play during the night. But I do like to calm the floor, interspersing the night with slower/deeper tandas by Demare, DiSarli, and Pugliese. As a DJ, I enjoy watching dancers connect with the music I play for them and with each other—all the special moments between us during a tanda. I look forward to the opportunity of being one of the DJs for Melbourne Tango Weekend 2026.
